Chandrayaan-3 project director was Vikram Lander, named after Vikram Sarabhai, who is credited with establishing India’s space project. He can land gently at a predetermined lunar area and deploy the Rover, which will conduct an on-site chemical investigation of the lunar surface throughout its mobility.
India’s aerospace program is fairly low-budget, although it has grown dramatically in size and velocity since 2008. The most recent trip cost $74.6 million, much less than other nations, demonstrating India’s frugal space engineering.
In 2014, India became the first Asian country to deploy a spacecraft into Mars orbit. It also intends to conduct a three-day crewed mission into Earth orbit by next year.
