Instagram Services Restored Outage Impacting 180,000+ Users

In a recent incident, Instagram experienced a technical disruption that temporarily hindered access for numerous users.

However, Meta Platform Inc., the parent company of Instagram, swiftly resolved the issue, bringing the platform back online for most users. A spokesperson from Meta assured Reuters that they diligently worked to address the problem for all those affected.

Although an exact count of impacted Instagram users was not disclosed, the outage tracking website Downdetector.com indicated significant disturbances in various regions. The United States witnessed over 100,000 reported incidents, Canada recorded around 24,000 incidents, and Britain encountered more than 56,000 incidents.

At the peak of the disruption, over 180,000 Instagram users reported encountering difficulties when attempting to access Instagram. The outage commenced at approximately 5:45 p.m. EST (2145 GMT) on Sunday, as reported by Downdetector.com. As time progressed, outages gradually decreased, with just over 7,000 reports by 8:30 p.m. EST.
