Despite the group being on hiatus with two members fulfilling mandatory military service, the loyal global fanbase, known as “ARMY,” came together in Seoul for the occasion.
Over the years, the seven-member group has garnered an immense international following, paving the way for K-Pop’s global success on the U.S. music charts and within the industry’s awards circuit.
To honor BTS, iconic landmarks like Seoul City Hall and Namsan Tower were bathed in purple, the group’s signature color. At the same time, numerous fans from countries like France and Mexico traveled to the city to relish the festivities.

Rita, a 20-year-old student from France and an ARMY member since 2018, expressed her excitement, stating, “I arrived in Korea last week and was pleasantly surprised to witness Namsan Tower glowing in purple.”
The jubilant celebrations have extended beyond the fan community, with various organizations and businesses joining the festivities. Seoul’s city authorities collaborated with BTS’ management agency, HYBE, to organize tours of landmarks associated with the group. South Korea’s postal service also released unique commemorative stamps honoring BTS’ debut anniversary.
Corporations like Hyundai Department Store, Lotte Shopping, and S-Oil have introduced exclusive offers and events to mark the milestone. The culmination of the celebrations is anticipated on Saturday, with BTS leader RM expected to meet fans, followed by a spectacular fireworks display near the Han River, which runs through Seoul.
In a heartfelt Twitter message to fans on Sunday, BTS member JungKook expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank you for teaching us about happiness and love, perhaps even more than we could imagine. I hope to continue walking alongside all of you for the next 10 years.”
