CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk, has announced tweet limitations which have encountered complaints from Twitter users worldwide. The social media platform implemented these limits to tackle issues related to excessive data scraping and system manipulation.
On Saturday, thousands of Twitter users faced difficulties accessing Twitter, reporting widespread problems through Downdetector, a platform that tracks website and platform outages.
The United Kingdom alone accounted for over 5,000 complaints from Twitter users, also from other countries like Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Turkey, and Germany also experienced issues.
Many users expressed frustration over the inability to load tweets, with some only able to view posts from the previous Friday evening. The exact cause of the Twitter outage remains unknown, as the company has not yet provided an official statement.
However, Elon Musk took to his Twitter account to explain that the tweet limitations were implemented to address the significant data scraping and system manipulation occurring on the platform. This move aimed to ensure a safer and more stable user experience on Twitter.
